Text Message Program and Opt-In

This page describes matchMor’s text message program and shows exactly how members consent to receive messages. It is published so that anyone — including carriers and reviewers — can inspect our opt-in without holding a matchMor account.

The program

matchMor is a curated matchmaking service. We text members about their own membership only:

That we have an introduction for them
A reminder to finish setting up their account
A direct question from their matchmaker

We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and we never text anyone about another member’s account.

Message frequency: varies. We text only when something specific to a member’s own membership happens, so many members receive no texts at all in a given month.
Cost: message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. matchMor does not charge for text messages.
To stop: reply STOP to any message to opt out immediately, or untick the box in account settings. Opting out of texts does not cancel membership.
For help: reply HELP to any message, or email hello@matchmor.com.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How members opt in

Consent is collected inside a member’s own account settings, on the contact details page, after they sign in. That page is private because it holds personal contact information, so the exact screen is reproduced below.

Providing a mobile number is optional and membership does not require one. No number is ever added by us, purchased, or obtained from a third party. Consent is optional and is never a condition of purchase.

Phone number

Shown greyed out above because the checkbox is disabled until a phone number has been entered. It is unticked by default, is never pre-selected, and a member may untick it at any time.

These are the only three kinds of message we send. Names and links are illustrative.

How we handle your number

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Your number is shared only with the messaging provider that delivers the message on our behalf, and it is never given to another member. This is described in Section 1.2 of our Privacy Policy and Section 7 of our Terms of Service.
