Law Enforcement Guidelines

This page describes how matchMor responds to requests for user information from law enforcement agencies and other government authorities. matchMor is committed to protecting user privacy while complying fully with applicable legal obligations.

1. How to Submit a Request

Law enforcement agencies seeking user data or account information from matchMor should submit requests by email to:

Requests must be submitted on official agency letterhead and include: the requesting agency’s name and badge/case number, the legal authority for the request (statute, court order, subpoena, or warrant), a description of the specific user data requested, and a point of contact for follow-up.

2. Types of Legal Process We Honor

matchMor evaluates each request individually and responds in accordance with applicable law. We generally comply with the following:

We will not voluntarily disclose user data to law enforcement without valid legal process, except in genuine emergency situations as described in Section 4 below.

3. User Notification

Where permitted by law and not prohibited by court order, matchMor will attempt to notify affected users of a request for their data before disclosure, so that they may seek legal counsel if they choose. We will not notify users when prohibited from doing so by law, court order, or when doing so would risk harm to an ongoing investigation or to a person’s safety.

4. Emergency Disclosures

In cases involving a credible and imminent threat to the life or safety of any person, matchMor may voluntarily disclose user information to law enforcement without legal process. To request an emergency disclosure, contact us immediately at info@matchmor.com with “EMERGENCY” in the subject line. Please also contact local emergency services (911) immediately if there is imminent danger.

5. Child Safety

matchMor has a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA). Any content or conduct involving the sexual exploitation of minors will be reported immediately to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline, as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and to relevant law enforcement agencies. No legal process is required for matchMor to make these reports.

6. Data We May Hold

Depending on the scope of a valid legal request, matchMor may be able to provide the following categories of user information:

matchMor does not store direct messages between users, as members do not have user-to-user messaging. All communications go through matchMor’s platform.

7. Cost Reimbursement

matchMor reserves the right to seek reimbursement for costs associated with responding to law enforcement requests, as permitted by applicable law.

8. Applicable Law

matchMor operates under the laws of the United States and the State of Utah. We comply with the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA), the Stored Communications Act (SCA), and all other applicable federal and state laws governing disclosure of user information.
